Want to Share Your Story?

I was one million percent ready for the kiddos to start school earlier this week. But … September? Somehow, I didn’t see it coming. And, now it’s here. My favorite month of the year. Not only is it my birthday, but it’s also National Recovery Month.

For me, recovery is about more than just staying sober. It’s about the work I do every single day to become the strongest and healthiest possible version of myself. I don’t need a special month to celebrate my recovery. I give thanks for it several times each day. And, I am always writing about it – whether or not I actually publish something for all to read.

So, this September, in honor of National Recovery Month, I want to celebrate other “Voices of Recovery,” and I invite you to share your story on my blog.

How do you sign up? It’s easy. Just click HERE and complete the online interview form. This form is designed for people in recovery, but I can adjust it for those who support someone in recovery or those who play another role in the recovery community or those who want to recover – please just contact me and let me know which category you fall into and I will email you a link to the appropriate interview form. I will feature your Q&A in your own words in a blog post and share it on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). If you want, we can even do a 30-minute Facebook Live interview!

If you wish to be featured, please complete the interview form as soon as possible and no later than September 10, 2017. I will post as many interviews as I receive (in the order in which I receive them). Know someone who should be featured? Please share this blog post with them.

Bonus: Everyone who submits an interview will receive a special thank you gift.

Every September, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) sponsors Recovery Month to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate the people who recover. This year’s theme is: Join the Voices for Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities. This theme highlights the value of family and community support throughout recovery and invites individuals in recovery and their family members to share their personal stories and successes in order to encourage others.
